Adding a Custom Privacy Policy to Your Cookie Consent Banner

This guide walks you through how to add your own custom privacy policy so it appears alongside the standard cookie consent banner.

Overview

By default, your site displays a standard privacy policy as part of the cookie consent experience. This feature allows you to:

  • Add your company-specific privacy policy

  • Display it alongside the default consent messaging

  • Provide users with clear access to your own policies

Step 1: Navigate to Account Settings

  1. Log in to your account.

  2. Go to Account Settings within your dashboard.

  3. Locate the section for Privacy Policy Settings.

Step 2: Enter Your Company Details

  1. In the Company Name field, enter your organization’s name.

  2. In the Privacy Policy URL field, paste the link to your privacy policy page.

For demonstration purposes, you can use any valid link (e.g., a blog or policy page), but in production, this should point to your official privacy policy.

Step 3: Save Your Changes

  • Make sure to save or update your settings after entering the required information.

Step 4: Verify the Implementation

  1. Open your website in an incognito/private browser window.

  2. Navigate to a page where the cookie consent banner appears.

  3. At the bottom of the page, you should now see:

    • The default privacy policy link

    • Your custom company privacy policy link

What Users Will See

  • A cookie consent banner allowing users to opt in or manage preferences

  • A link to your custom privacy policy, labeled with your company name

  • The policy accessible both within the banner and alongside existing compliance elements

Requirements

  • You must have the appropriate account permissions to access and update privacy policy settings.
