In this guide, we'll walk you through creating a custom email capture modal via found.ee. This feature helps collect email addresses from visitors and offers a variety of customization options to fit your branding. Let’s go step by step on how to create your own.

Access the Email Capture Section

  • Start by logging into your Found.ee account. Navigate to the Marketing section and select Email Capture.

  • You’ll see a list of existing email captures if you have any, but for this guide, we’ll focus on creating a new one.

Start Creating a New Email Capture

  • Click Create Email Capture in the top-right corner.

  • Once inside the editor, you'll notice that all the elements of the modal are adjustable. You can move, resize, and customize the different sections to fit your needs.

Customize the Text

  • Start by entering a Title. For this demo, we'll use: "This is a demo."

  • Add Body Text to provide more context. A simple message like “Sign up for updates” works well.

  • You can adjust the text font size, style, and alignment. There’s a centerline guide that ensures perfect alignment for a professional look.

Set Up Your Background

  • One of the most important parts of the design is the background. You have two options:

    • Use a solid color background (recommended). This is usually the most effective as it keeps the design clean and readable. Choose a color that contrasts well with your text to ensure clarity.

    • Custom Background: You can upload your own background image if you'd like to add a more personalized or branded touch. Make sure the image isn’t too busy and doesn’t interfere with the text's readability.

Adjust Font and Styling

  • You can change the color, font weight, and style of the text. For example, setting the font weight to 700 will bold the text, making it stand out.

  • Experiment with these options to achieve a design that fits your brand and captures attention.

Design the Call-to-Action (CTA) Button

  • Create a strong CTA button, such as “Subscribe Now.”

  • Customize the button color for maximum impact. For instance, you might choose a black background with white text to create a bold, eye-catching contrast.

Set Up Trigger Rules

  • A key feature of this tool is the ability to set trigger rules for when the email capture modal should appear.

  • Make sure your found.ee pixel is installed on the website where you want the modal to fire.

Choose the Domain and Triggers

  • Select the domain where the found.ee pixel is active.

  • You can set specific conditions for when the modal will be triggered. One highly recommended trigger is to show the modal just before a user leaves the page.

    • For example, if a visitor is browsing your merch or tour dates, and then moves their mouse towards the browser’s address bar to leave the site, the modal will appear. This is a great time to capture their attention before they exit.

Manage Frequency and Avoid User Fatigue

  • Set the frequency for how often the modal should appear to returning visitors. A good practice is to set it for once every 30 days.

  • This prevents users from seeing the same modal too frequently and avoids user fatigue. If someone has already subscribed or interacted with the modal, they won’t be shown the pop-up again for the set period.

With these steps, you can create a fully customized email capture modal that enhances user engagement and helps grow your email list. By selecting a solid color background or uploading your own, and configuring the triggers and frequency wisely, you can ensure your email capture pop-up is both effective and non-intrusive.
