Remarketing Ad Campaign Setup Guide

A step-by-step guide to creating remarketing display ad campaigns via found.ee, including our Follow-On Remarketing tool.

Here at found.ee, one of our primary goals is to empower our users to collect and leverage their own first-party data. One of our most powerful tools in this arena is Remarketing ads! This ad format enables you to target users within your custom found.ee Audiences, and our Follow-On Remarketing tool enables you to target impression-based audiences based on users you reached in previous ad campaigns.

To create Remarketing display ad campaigns via found.ee, follow the steps below:

Campaign Setup

From your found.ee Dashboard, click the pink Quick Launch button at the top left of your screen, select Create Ads, and then click Remarketing Web and Mobile Display Banner Ads.

From there, fill out the Campaign Setup & Location Targeting steps as usual. Reference our Web & Mobile Display Ad Guide if you have any questions on either of these sections!

Segment Targeting

In the Segment Targeting section, you can select any of your custom found.ee audiences as displayed in the Audiences tab of your found.ee account. Simply click the drop-down arrow on the right side of this section to view all of your custom audiences, and select as many as you'd like to add to your campaign.

Interest Targeting

Just like with our Web and Mobile Display Banner Ads, you can also add Interest Targeting to your Remarketing campaigns! This can be particularly helpful if you're looking to generate broader reach with your campaign or if your remarketing audiences aren't very big yet.

Optimizations

Since Remarketing campaigns are more targeted ads focused on driving users further down the marketing funnel, in this section, you have the option to set optimize your campaign 'Conversions / Acquisitions / Purchases'. Please note: you must be actively tracking browsing activity on the website you're driving traffic to and set up conversion rules which specify what you're measuring in order for this optimization to function properly.

Follow-On Remarketing

In addition to leveraging your custom Audiences in found.ee, with our Follow-On Remarketing tool, you can also retarget users who were served impressions of your previous ads, even if they didn't click the first time! With Follow-On Remarketing campaigns, we typically see even higher click-through rates and similar or better cost per reach, so this is a great way to amplify your momentum at an efficient rate.

To set up a Follow-On Remarketing campaign, follow the steps below:

  1. From your found.ee dashboard, select Ad Reporting on the left sidebar, and click on the campaign you're looking to retarget.

  2. In the section titled Addressable Audience at the top of the page, hover your cursor over the pink circle and click when you see 'Impressions Audience' (at the outside edge of the circle).

  3. Then, you will be directed to the Remarketing campaign setup page, and that impression-based audience will be automatically added in the Segment Targeting section. Reference the above sections and our Display Ad Setup Guide if you have any questions about the rest of this campaign setup process!

Note: Due to privacy laws, impression-based audiences only last a maximum of 90 days, so you must have a recent ad campaign in order for this tool to perform optimally.
